After a long period where Amazon were providing some great free books
for the Kindle - but only if you could find them - they have made it really easy to find huge
numbers of free books. These are all classics - some well known, others less so,
but all worth a read. And the price is certainly right!
Anyway, just click the link to see Amazon's list of free classic books. It will open in
a new window and you can browse to your heart's content.
There are plenty of titles to choose from including Dracula, Alice's
Adventures In Wonderland, Little Women, The Jungle Book...
It's a long list - go see for yourself.
And if you want to try a Kindle book but haven't yet got a Kindle
reader then check out the Free Kindle
Apps that allow you to read Kindle books on a number of different devices
including the PC and the Mac.
(Do your friends a favor and tweet
them how to get free Kindle books)
There are over 950,000 books to choose
from - and you can download a book in less than 60 seconds using the
Kindle's wireless connection.
One big bonus that many people don't know about is the
large number of free Kindle books available right
from Amazon's webstore. All you have to do is go to the Kindle bookstore and do a search for any type of book.
In the field at the top right hand corner select "Price: low to high" and you should see plenty of books
available for free.
You will probably be pleasantly surprised at some of the
free titles available to you. A lot of the classics are there - they are now freely available because it has been a
number of years since they were published - and some more modern books are also on offer. It's well worth checking
what's on offer, the price is right after all.
Here's a sample of some of the books you can get for free:
Those are all timeless classics of course - but if you prefer something more modern
then how about these examples:
It's probably worth noting that, whilst the "classic" books remain fairly static, the
more modern books available for free do vary. This page is updated every week - so it's worth checking back from
time to time as the freebies do vary. If any of the modern books aren't free at the time you view this page I do
apologise - Amazon are hard to keep up with at times (just ask Sony).
Apart from these examples, there are plenty titles available for $0.01. That's not
free - but it's pretty close. All things considered, you could pretty quickly offset the cost of your Kindle when
you consider the savings available on your regular book purchases.
It seems to be getting harder to find free Kindle books at Amazon. They are still
there but the sorting "Price: Low to high" doesn't seem to be working as well as it used to. The list seems to
contain huge amounts of Kindle books at $2.30, which is still pretty cheap to be fair, with the $0.00 books tucked
in amongst them. So, the free books are there, but you have to look a bit harder for them than
Anyway, just so that you don't have to go trawling through the list just click on the
link to check out a few more free Kindle books for you.
